Girls of Girlology
As doctors, we live in an intense reality. We've delivered the babies of young teenagers. We've treated countless cases of sexually transmitted infections. We've witnessed many hard lessons learned, and we've proudly watched many girls mature into responsible, sexually healthy young women.
As mothers, we honor the fact that values should be taught at home, and that communication is essential, but often not easy.
After observing many parents reluctant to discuss sexuality with their daughters, we realized that our combined expertise and experience makes us just the gals to offer some good ol' Girltalk!
Dr. Holmes is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, a magna cum laude graduate of The University of Georgia, and a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia. Following her Ob-Gyn internship and residency at The Medical College of Virginia, Melisa joined the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston where she held joint appointments in Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics, and has been named among the Best Doctors in America.
Dr. Hutchison is a South Carolina girl. She grew up in Rock Hill, graduated cum laude from the College of Charleston and earned her MD at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). After completing her Pediatrics internship and residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, Trish came back to Charleston, where she was in private practice for 10 years. She then joined the facility of MUSC with the Adolescent Medicine Department where she directed a young women’s health center. She, too, has been named among the Best Doctors in America.
